Ingredients

  • 3 oz rum
  • 1 oz orange liqueur
  • 2 oz lime juice
  • 1-2 oz simple syrup
  • 1 1/2 cups frozen mango chunks
  • 1 1/2 cups ice

Instructions

  • Add all the ingredients to a blender. (Liquid first - this helps the blender work smoothly.)
  • Puree on high until smooth, stopping to scrape down the blender or stir the mixture as needed.
  • Taste and add more simple syrup if it's too tart.
  • Serve immediately, garnished with lime and/or strawberries. Top with a little whipped cream for a special treat.

Notes

  • Simple Syrup: To make simple syrup, combine equal amounts of water and granulated sugar in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and let simmer until the sugar is completely dissolved. Cool and store in the refrigerator for 3-4 weeks.
  • Mango: You can dice up and freeze your own ripe fruit or purchase frozen diced mango at the store.
  • Ice: You need to use about half ice in this drink. It keeps the texture and the flavor balanced.
